2016 Fellow Elizabeth Chatham recently spoke at the Arizona Minority and Women Bar Conference regarding immigration. She will also be speaking at a national immigration conference for the American Immigration Lawyers Association on June 25. 

2016 Fellow Abam Mambo-Doh recently spoke at the National Employment Law Council on "Moving Past Assumptions: Issues to Consider with Regard to Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in the Workplace" and for NELC's Academy, "Deposing the Corporate Deponent." 

2016 Fellow Chris Agrawal and 2015 Fellow Dinesh Melwani were recently named Washington D.C. "Rising Stars" in Intellectual Property by Super Lawyers magazine. 

2016 Fellows Elizabeth Livingston and Marissa Parker were both named 2016 Lawyers on the Fast Track by the Pennsylvania Legal.  Read more here.  

2015 Fellow Cherylyn Mizzo was recently elected as an Inaugural Board Member of the Filipino American Lawyers Association of Washington, DC.

2015 Fellow Travis Torrence recently served as Honorary Chair of the Victory Fund & Institute’s 2016 Houston Champagne Brunch.  Shortly before the event, the Houston City Council and the Mayor of Houston presented Travis with a proclamation that declared April 17, 2016 as “Travis Torrence Day” in the City of Houston because of his dedication and service to the practice of law, philanthropy, and diversity and inclusion. Travis was also recently featured by the National Law Journal in its “In-Housel Counsel Profile” section.  To read the article, click here

2014 Fellow Dennis Hopkins was named a 2016 Diversity & Inclusion Champion by the New York City Bar Association. Read more here

COMMUNITY SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS  

2014 Fellow Joseph Hanna is the President and Founder of Bunkers in Baghdad, a nonprofit organization that collects golf balls and clubs and ships them to soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The organization will be hosting the 7th Annual Bunkers in Baghdad Chicago Benefit on June 22, 2016, at Ranalli's Lincoln Park. 2016 FELLOWS MONTHLY CALL & ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER QUESTION: May 12, 2016 at 3:00pm

THE PNC FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP LEARNING EXPERIENCE: Pittsburgh, PA - June 7-8, 2016

Registration is now open to Fellows from all classes for The PNC Financial Services Group Learning Experience hosted by Greg Jordan, General Counsel and Head of Regulatory Government Affairs, on June 8th in Pittsburgh.  The event will include a conversation between Gregory Jordan and LCLD president Robert Grey.  William S. Demchak, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of PNC, and Vicki Henn, Chief Human Resources Officer of PNC will also be presenting.  The Learning Experience will kick off with a welcome event on June 7th.  Please email Stephanie Uzel at suzel@lcldnet.com to register.

The Rick Palmore LCLD Fellows Alumni Awards recognize the outstanding achievements, commitment, and leadership of LCLD Fellows Alumni who have paved the way for and assisted with the advancement of the LCLD Fellows Program and diverse attorneys. Click here to learn about the selection process and nomination criteria. IN-HOUSE, GOVERNMENT, AND NON-PROFIT ATTORNEY PANEL SPEAKERS NEEDED: LAVENDER LAW 2015 CAREER SERVICES AND JOB SEARCH STRATEGIES FOR LAW STUDENTS: Washington, DC - August 6, 2016

Are you planning to attend the 2016 Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair? Would you like to speak to students to provide tips for success? This panel, moderated by LCLD Program Director Lori Lorenzo, will include lawyers from law firms, in-house legal departments, government, and non-profit organizations. The National LGBT Bar Association currently needs in-house, government, and non-profit attorney speakers (all law firm spots have been filled) for this panel which will take place on Saturday, August 6, from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel. VISITING WOMEN EXECUTIVE EXCHANGE PROGRAM: Yale University School of Management - September 11-15, 2016 

The Visiting Women Executive Exchange Program at the Yale School of Management addresses the most challenging professional step for women -- the leap to top management. Over one week, senior women managers from Africa and North America are prepared for transformational C-suite, board room, cabinet, and university leadership through intensive instruction in critical skills needed to think strategically, make better decisions, grow organizations, and lead diverse teams in a 21st century environment. The program runs Sunday, September 11, through Thursday, September 15, with a fee of $8,950. There is a discount for those who apply by May 1.
