2015 Fellow Travis Torrence was recently promoted to Vice President - Legal of Jiffy Lube International, Inc., a subsidiary of Shell Oil Company. He was also sworn in as President of the Arthur L. Moller/David B. Foltz, Jr. American Inn of Court.

2014 Fellow Erica Brown is now Senior Director of Employment Compliance for Walmart US Ethics and Compliance.

2013 Fellow Joshua Briones is now a Partner at Blank Rome LLP.

2013 Fellow Valeria Chapa was interviewed for this article on diversity initiatives at corporations, alongside two LCLD Board Members. Read more about Valeria's work with Abogadas MX here.

2013 Fellow Brian Seaman was recently recognized as one of the Best LGBT Attorneys Under the Age of 40 at Lavender Law, the LGBT Bar's Annual Conference.

2012 Fellow Andy Cao will serve as Chair of the ABA Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section's Intellectual Property Committee for 2015-16. Andy is also Vice-Chair of the Business Litigation Committee, is an editor of the TIPS Law Journal, and serves on the ABA TIPS Leadership Academy Task Force.

2012 Fellows Sarah La Voi and Linda Lu and 2011 Fellow Raquel Tamez were named on Insider Counsel's R3-100 list, which recognizes 100 women who are likely to become general counsel in the next three years. Read more about their honor here.

2011 Fellows Vanessa Allen Sutherland was appointed by President Obama as Chairperson of the U.S. Chemical Safety Board. She will be sworn in for a 5-year term today, August 11.

COMMUNITY SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

2015 Fellow Travis Torrence was recently sworn in President-Elect of the Board of Directors of Bo's Place, a nonprofit, free-of-charge bereavement center that offers grief support services to children, families, and adults who have lost loved ones.

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 2015 FELLOWS SECOND MEETING

Registration for the LCLD 2015 Fellows Second Meeting at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago is now open. The meeting will begin on Monday, September 28, at 1:30 p.m. and conclude on Wednesday, September 30, at 1 p.m. A formal agenda will be available in the coming weeks.

Registration will remain open until the meeting begins, but in order to take advantage of the LCLD conference rate of $325 per night for Monday and Tuesday nights at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago, please call (844) 236-8181 and book your room by Tuesday, September 8 (we are sorry, but online hotel registration is not available). Remember to mention that you are attending the LCLD Fellows Second Meeting. If you would like to stay at the Ritz Sunday and/or Wednesday night, you must make reservations with Ashley Glass by calling her at (312) 573-5193. The special hotel rate listed above will be available until LCLD's room block fills up or until the deadline of September 8 -- whichever comes first.
